How to Measure Yourself for Lead Aprons

Finding your proper Lead Apron size could not be any easier.

  1. Grab a tape measure and a friend if you need help measuring yourself.
  2. Go to our Lead Apron sizing chart on our website and download the pdf
  3. Select the right Sizing Chart Male or Female. Our aprons are designed in mind for the shape of the wearer to ensure maximum radiation protection.
  4. Be sure to wear your scrubs or any outfit that you usually wear while working.
  5. Have you or your friend measure you over your uniform / outfit.
  6. Measure
  • Chest – Be sure to measure the fullest part of the chest.
  • Waist – Measure the fullest part of the natural waistline
  • Hip – Measure the fullest part of the hip
  • Apron Length – Measure from the high-point shoulder (as seen on the sizing chart) to just above the knee.
  • Vest – Measure from the high-point shoulder (as seen on the sizing chart) to 3″-5″ below the natural waist line.
  • Skirt – Measure from the natural waist line to just above the knee.

By matching the corresponding numbers to your measurements you will ensure that your Lead Apron will properly fit you.

The Lead Apron neckline should be high on your chest and be overlapped by a thyroid shield. There should not be a gap. The length of the Lead Apron should stop right above the knee. When walking your knee should not knock into your apron.
